\n To Uppsala and Back Aboard S\/S Blid\u00f6sund!\n <\/h2>\n\n \n Sweden\u2019s oldest steamship route \u2013 the first journey took place as early as 1818!\n <\/span>\n \n
\n

With our experienced captain at the helm, the steamship S\/S Blid\u00f6sund is expertly navigated through Lake M\u00e4laren\u2019s narrow straits and wide bays. The region is rich in history and lined with magnificent castles and manor houses, such as Krusenberg, Steninge, and Skokloster.\u00a0On the journey to and from Uppsala, we pass fifteen bridges, half of which must open for us. The highlight of the trip is when we slowly glide through the narrow Fyris River \u2013 just like a Mississippi river steamer!<\/p>\n

Along the way, we make a stop in Sweden\u2019s oldest town, Sigtuna, where you will have plenty of time to explore the old town.<\/p>\n

On the Sunday we make the trip in reverse order going back to Stockholm.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/article>\n <\/div>\n\n

Departure is from Skeppsbron, berth 101, on Saturday, 29 August. After passing through the lock into Lake M\u00e4laren, the ship sets course for Sigtuna and then continues on to Uppsala.<\/p>\n

The stop in Sigtuna, Sweden\u2019s oldest town, lasts for one and a half hours, giving you time to explore its charming streets and historic surroundings at your own pace.<\/p>\n
