\n The Ship's History\n <\/h2>\n\n \n

S\/S Blid\u00f6sund was commissioned in 1910 by a group of dedicated residents of Blid\u00f6 who united in protest against Waxholmsbolaget, as it did not serve the routes and piers they needed. To solve the problem, they raised funds to finance their own vessel. The result was S\/S Blid\u00f6sund, launched in 1911, and she quickly became a beloved steamship on her main route from Stockholm through Roslagen.<\/p>\n

Today, S\/S Blid\u00f6sund is a living museum, preserved in the same condition as when she was first launched. Her well-preserved original state offers passengers a unique opportunity to experience the archipelago just as people did over a century ago. She is not just a steamship \u2013 she is a piece of living history.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/article>\n <\/div>\n\n

\n The Ship Today\n <\/h2>\n\n \n

S\/S Blid\u00f6sund is a true museum, preserved in the same condition as when she was first launched in 1911. During the summer, she runs her own program of music cruises and excursions, but on days when she is not operating scheduled tours, she is available for private hire. Onboard, there are three dining rooms with seating for a total of 60 guests. In the aft salon\u2014where musicians perform during the music evenings\u2014long tables can be set up to accommodate an additional 40\u201350 people.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t miss the chance to peek into the engine room and see the fireman shovel coal into the furnace and witness a genuine steam engine in action!<\/p>\n

Together with our volunteer support association, F\u00f6reningen Blid\u00f6sund, we\u2019ve created a more extensive program for the summer of 2025 than ever before\u2014a mix of music cruises, exciting excursions, and regular sailings to and from Norrt\u00e4lje and the Blid\u00f6sund strait.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/article>\n <\/div>\n\n
