Find Your Way Through the Troy Town Labyrinth
Idyllic Islands Along the Söderarm FairwayBåtskären, located in the northern part of the vast Söderarm archipelago, is a rarely visited island that we have the privilege of exploring on this journey. Two islands are connected by a small bridge, sturdy enough to carry trucks when the Swedish Armed Forces constructed a state-of-the-art coastal battery inside the bedrock in the 1970s to protect the Stockholm approach via the Söderarm fairway, which passes just offshore. Today, only a small but accessible air-raid shelter remains as a reminder of this military history.
A beautifully sheltered inlet cuts between the islands. While its innermost section has gradually become silted up, a small private fishing hut still stands by the water’s edge. Nearby, a magnificent 12-circuit Troy Town labyrinth invites visitors to follow its winding paths with care. Perhaps completing the labyrinth will bring us a little extra luck on our voyage of discovery!
