Discover Roslagen’s gem, Svartlöga, this summer!
Welcome to Svartlöga – one of the archipelago’s most unique islands and a perfect day trip for the whole family.
Svartlöga is home to one of the best-preserved village settings in the entire Stockholm archipelago. Unlike many other islands, Svartlöga was spared during the Russian raids of 1719, making its village the oldest intact one in the region. Wander along charming gravel roads between red cottages, boathouses, and blooming gardens – a true summer journey through time.
Film lovers will be excited to know that parts of the new Saltkråkan movie were filmed right here. And it’s easy to see why – Svartlöga’s untouched, fairytale-like atmosphere feels straight out of an Astrid Lindgren story.
Families with children will love the island’s small, child-friendly beach – perfect for a swim or some sandy playtime. Just a few minutes’ walk away lies Lassas Hagar, a five-hectare arboretum like no other. Here you’ll find a water garden and more than 2,500 exotic trees and shrubs, including magnolias, rhododendrons, maples, and mighty oaks. It’s both a work of art and a nature project – right in the heart of the archipelago.
There are no cars and no shops on Svartlöga – just nature, culture, and peacefulness. A perfect escape from everyday life.
