The artist demekech comes from Byske, north of Skellefteå. She grew up in a loving home with a father from Sweden and a mother adopted from Ethiopia. Growing up with a mixed background in a small town in northern Sweden has been difficult for demekech, with the constant feeling of being neither white nor black enough. The in-betweenness she experienced at an early age made her start looking further afield, to eventually find her place. Through her honest lyrics and unique voice, she shares her feelings and her story - telling us where she is today but also where she is going.
In the fall of 2021, demekech released her first singles, which resulted in an EP "call dad" - the collection can be described as a series of stories from her countless phone calls with her father. With a dreamy and alternative soundscape, mixed with influences from RnB and folk music, demekech deals with themes such as small town syndrome, mental illness and how it affects relationships.

Diane Emerita has the captivating ability to capture honesty with her deep and emotionally charged voice. Yet it's her complementary imaginative piano playing that creates the foundation for her adventurous and raw sound.
In Aftonbladet, Diane Emerita is described as one of the clearest voices on the Swedish music scene today.
21-year-old Diane grew up in Germany and Sweden, but has already lived in several places around the world. Today she lives in Malmö. She describes how the many moves have left their mark and made it difficult to feel a sense of belonging. But in music she has found her place and there is no doubt that she is here to stay.
In 2020, her first album 'Black Blue Sky' was released with tracks like 'Lullaby'. The album was followed by the single 'To Simply Be' in 2022, and now she's releasing new music. Already now you can hear a taste in the form of the beautiful single 'Body in Distress'. In the spring of 2024, Diane will release her upcoming EP 'Travelling Forever', a collaboration with former Grammy-nominated producer Hampus Norén about a journey Diane needed to take to find the depth of her voice.
