On August 29–30, we once again run the popular cruise between Stockholm and Uppsala aboard the classic steamship S/S Blidösund. The journey follows the beautiful waterways of Lake Mälaren, with a stop in Sigtuna.

The trip to Uppsala is now sold out but there are still some tickets left on the way back on the Sunday.

To Uppsala and Back Aboard S/S Blidösund!

Sweden’s oldest steamship route – the first journey took place as early as 1818!

With our experienced captain at the helm, the steamship S/S Blidösund is expertly navigated through Lake Mälaren’s narrow straits and wide bays. The region is rich in history and lined with magnificent castles and manor houses, such as Krusenberg, Steninge, and Skokloster. On the journey to and from Uppsala, we pass fifteen bridges, half of which must open for us. The highlight of the trip is when we slowly glide through the narrow Fyris River – just like a Mississippi river steamer!

Along the way, we make a stop in Sweden’s oldest town, Sigtuna, where you will have plenty of time to explore the old town.

On the Sunday we make the trip in reverse order going back to Stockholm.

From Stockholm to Uppsala

Departure is from Skeppsbron, berth 101, on Saturday, 29 August. After passing through the lock into Lake Mälaren, the ship sets course for Sigtuna and then continues on to Uppsala.

The stop in Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town, lasts for one and a half hours, giving you time to explore its charming streets and historic surroundings at your own pace.

All tickets include a guided steamship cruise and time ashore in Sigtuna. Please note that all passengers require a ticket, regardless of age.

From Uppsala to Stockholm

Departure is from Uppsala (Islandsbron) on Sunday, 30 August. After cruising along the scenic Fyris River, the ship sets course for Sigtuna before continuing on to Stockholm.
The stop in Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town, lasts just under one and a half hours, giving you time to stroll through its charming streets and enjoy the historic surroundings at your leisure.
